That way you can walk all the way across, since they open up the gate. My family owns the land on the hill across from the entrance of this bridge and most of the area formally known as DiamondVille. This bride was nearly lost several times over the years due to flooding. It has also been featured in many movies, music videos, and a few television shows. It is known locally as a place to propose to your sweety. You can no longer fully cross the bridge as there is a gate on the back end of it. If you cross the creek and go up behind it, you can still see wagon tracks from the stage coaches and wagon haulers that ran between Chico and the mountain communities. It is a nice place to take a dip during the 100+ degree summer days in the area or to have a picnic lunch in the shade of the spans. If you have not been there, go see it. It is worth the five mile drive up into the canyon, the views along the way are so pretty, especially in the fall.
