Visiting Bodega Bay offers you the opportunity to spend a California vacation doing a whole lot of awesome activities such as fishing on the Coast where you can go after the big ones such as Salmon, Halibut, Rock Cod, Ling Cod, Sport Crabbing & Whale watching.
The beaches of the area offer a wide expanse of sand at Salmon Creek which is where the creek meets the ocean. Surfers find this one of the best places to catch a wave, kids like the sport for skim-boarding, and the youngest can splash in the calm waveless waters of the creek. Just north of Bodega Bay on Hwy 1.
If you are into kayaking and enjoy a fabulous view then Goat Rock is perfect. It juts out from the ocean floor, providing a landmark for those who visit the coast. North of Bodega Bay, take River Road to Hwy 1 and go left.
If you are interested in walking the beach or surf wading then you will want to visit Portuguese Beach. It is one of the Sonoma Coast’s most expansive beaches with step interior cliffs and the ocean filled with lots of sand.
Take a 3 hour tour of Bodega Bay in a sail boat with views of the coastline, sea lions and possibly whales (depending on the time of year.)
