Irvine Park Railroad, founded in 1996, is located in beautiful Irvine Regional Park. The train is a one-third scale train that takes both children and adults on a scenic, 12-minute ride through the 477-acre park. The train ride is narrated by the engineer.
Annual Irvine Park Railroad events include the Pumpkin Patch, Christmas Train, Easter Eggstravaganza and Anniversary Celebration:
Pumpkin Patch – Locomotive Loop, located just behind the train station, is transformed into a pumpkin patch. Pumpkin patch activities include train rides, thousands of pumpkins, hay rides, a child-friendly haunted house, a hay maze, pony rides, a moon bounce, face painting (weekends only), picture stands and a lot more. Irvine Park Railroad offers special group and school pumpkin patch tours with special discount pricing available.
Christmas Train – Passengers to Irvine Park Railroad can take an enchanting night ride through historic Irvine Regional Park to meet Santa Claus. The Christmas Train hours are 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and parking is free after 5:00 pm. Food and snacks are available for purchase.
Easter Eggstravaganza – Children of all ages can meet and visit with the Easter Bunny at Irvine Park Railroad during the annual Easter Eggstravaganza. Children can participate in an Easter egg hunt; all Easter eggs are filled with candy or a prize. Carnival games, moon bounce, picture stands and a lot more fun for the entire family!
Anniversary Celebration – Every year, Irvine Park Railroad celebrates its anniversary by rolling back prices to original 1996 pricing… including special pricing for train tickets. This is Irvine Park Railroad’s way of thanking all of their loyal customers.
Irvine Park Railroad offers a range of private and semi-private party areas that are available by reservation only. These locations are ideal for events including birthday parties, company picnics, family reunions, church group meetings, birthday parties and more. Irvine Park Railroad rents moon bounces for locations inside of Irvine Regional Park.
Other park activities include paddle boat rentals, bike rentals, pony rides, the Orange County Zoo, walking trails, horse rentals and more. Two snack bars inside of the park offer cold and hot food.
