Located on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles is the world-renowned Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Founded as a museum in 1961, it is near the George C. Page Museum and the La Brea Tar Pits. The museum contains more than a quarter of a million works from ancient art to modern. Besides artwork, the museum also hosts a number of film and music events throughout the year.

La Brea Tar Pits - Los Angeles, California

A walk back in time

One of the tourist spots you can visit in Los Angeles is the famous La Brea Tar Pits, which are collection of tar pits. It is located in the affluent and historic urban neighborhood of Hancock Park.

This accessible and famous paleontological site was created from asphalt or tar that has infiltrated from the ground for thousands of years. As a result, hundreds of sticky pools of tar were formed. Of the hundred pits in the park, Pit 91 is the most famous because it is visited by tourists every summer. One of the exhibits of the site is the regular excavation of the site for fossils that last for two months.

Mann’s Chinese Theater - Los Angeles, California

Opened by Cecil B. De Mille’s film “King of Kings.” The cinema was built in 1927 and still attracts hundreds of people to it on a regular basis.

Like the Egyptian Theater on Hollywood Blvd. and the Million Dollar on LAs’ Broadway, the Chinese theater is also a creation of Sid Grauman, who had a predilection for exotic cinema places.  The theater took on the name of its current owner, Ted Mann, and displays numerous Chinese features such as the two giant Chinese heavenly dogs at the entrance to keep away evil spirits.
