Are you looking for something different that will keep not only you interested but the kids too?  If you do then you may want to spend some time at the Temecula Museum where the history of the area is followed from the first settlements to the present day.  It follows the cultural changes of the area that were part of how the community ended up being what it is today.

There are exhibits of handcrafted artifacts, cultural items from the different cultures, ranching and farming equipment, documents along with photographs and more items.  The exhibits tell the stories of the area such as the Luiseno Indians, the Mission San Luis Rey period and those stories of the ranchos, transportation evolution from stagecoach to railroads to present day.

For the kids there are interactive discovery exhibits for them to do hands on learning while playing in the setting of a General Store, dress shop, photographer studio and even a ride the pony station.  They will be having so much fun it will be difficult to get them to leave.

There are special events that take place at the museum that you may enjoy.  On the “First Thursday” evening programs for adults and families such as performing events, gallery talks, demonstrations, lectures and other media targeted to the subject areas in the exhibits.

“Family Day” activities are on the first Saturday of every month with hands on interactive learning opportunities for the kids and families alike.
