Miners Foundry -
The Miners Foundry was built in the 1855 era to accommodate the needs of the gold miners in the Sierra foothills. The miners realized that they needed the proper equipment to extract the gold at a faster rate then digging by hand. In response to those needs the Foundry was built and grew up with
Over time the metalworkers at the Foundry also showed their skill fabricating equipment to ease the difficult life of those settling the western regions. It is here that the famous Pelton Wheel of 1879 was born.

The machine shop that first began life as the foundry is now a cultural center and community meeting place.
Museum hours: Monday – Friday 10 – 4
Docent tours and documentary film available by appointment. The museum is closed to the public on Saturday and Sunday.
