Moonridge Animal Park - Big Bear Lake, California

Moonridge wildlife preserve.jpgMoonridge Animal Park - Big Bear Lake, California

This wildlife preserve has a number of animals from the alpine that are no longer able to live in the wild.  Either they have been injured by humans or in some other manner that prevents them from being able to take care of themselves if released.

The Moonridge Animal Park has received animals from numerous different facilities, such as the coyote from the Wildlife Way station in Tujunga, California wehre she was born, or The U.S. Fish and Wildlife which has a "three strikes you’re out" policy with bears.  If a bear has been removed from a recreational or residential area three times they can no longer be released back into the wild.  Other animals have come from other zoos.  The majority of the animals at Moonridge have been injured and need the care offered here.  The majority of animals rehabilitated at the Park have been successfully released to the wild. blimp 007.JPGAirship Venture Zeppelin - San Francisco Area, California

This is the largest airship flying the skies over the planet and currently there are just three of them, one being right here in San Francisco!  The others are in Germany and Tokyo.  You will be impressed when you see how this fabulous creation floats through the skies!

The powerful engines, state-of-the-art avionics, and fly-by-wire flight controls allow the airship to maneuver similarly to a helicopter, including vertical takeoffs and landings.

The airship is 246 feet long, 15 feet longer than a Boeing 747, and 50 feet longer than the largest blimp currently operating.  It is 64 ft wide at its widest point and stands 57 ft high. If you thought this was a blimp, you are wrong.  A blimp is shaped by the air inside; the airship has a frame which gives it the strength and shape you see flying overhead.thumb001airshipventures_maiden_flight_ground.jpg
